How lucky we are that Toby and the amazing team at the Allen Gallery are allowing us to relocate our Sunday afternoon catch-ups to the Gallery over the cold winter - we'll be back to to the public garden in the spring - and thanks to Acorns coffee shack for discount coffees we will be back soon :)

Such lovely conversations were had today. So stimulated by the environment - one or our very very quiet members spoke out in the garden about 'The lazy wind'? Whats the lazy wind - we asked?? 'It goes right through you instead of round you' - he said - was so good to hear him speak out.

So, please note that as the winter creeps up on us it will be less appropriate to meet up at the Sensory Garden for our sunday afternoon gatherings, and we have been fortunate enough to agree to relocate these meetings to the Allen Gallery from 1300 - 1500. We have advised our 'regular gardening gang' but please do share this post so that everyone knows. We are so grateful to staff at the Allen Gallery for supporting us in this way and can obviously enjoy the beautiful garden there instead.
The Sensory Garden in the Town park will of course be maintained by Dementia-friendly Alton over the winter period so thats its ready for us to enjoy along with everyone else in the Spring (well as soon as its a bit warmer). Anyone wanting to catch up / chat the the Dementia-friendly Alton Team will find us at the Allen gallery on Sunday afternoons, rather than the Happy to Talk bench (but just while its winter) - please come and see us or contact us at anytime.
